Laidback Luke & Afrojack BOTH sell-out presale @ Pacha NYC

Is this UH-OH or is this a good thing?

Afrojack (friday, Jan 7) and Laidback Luke (saturday, Jan 8) playing consecutive nights at Pacha NYC have both sold out presale.

What does this mean? A little background before the two possible cases...

Guetta sold out on Dec 6th and Pacha handled it perfectly. This is most likely because they were expecting it to sell out and prepared accordingly. The next night, Kaskade sold out rather unexpectedly and I heard (was not there) that it was absolute mayhem at the club.

Possibility #1: To be on the cautious side, Pacha decided to sell less than usual pre-sale tickets in order to get a better grip how many people would be there and be able to handle the crowd. For example, if they usually pre-sell 80% of total ticket sales, perhaps for this upcoming weekend they lowered that percentage to 70% or 60%, meaning the pre-sale tickets would sell out sooner, not necessarily that as many people have bought pre-sale tickets as in the past - in order to help them prepare better for the crowd with a few more days until the event. *Those percentages are completely hypothetical.

Possibility #2: The strategy I just mentioned is garbage, and they actually sold-out presale identically to the way they have in the past and we can expect getting in to be more on the mayhem side rather than the preparedness side.

In either case, both were sold out by last night giving Pacha 3-4 days to prepare so hopefully things run smoothly. I guess time will tell to see if Pacha can handle its own growth rate.

Good luck this weekend everyone - so far the only event I am definitely going to is Afrojack so expect a review of at least that next week.

NOTE: As of 5:52pm on Wed, Jan 5 2010 - *LBL tickets are not sold out - Pacha released another batch pre-sale*
